Community Involvement

OFCU is proud of its community involvement. We strive to always be a good neighbor and help out whenever possible. Below are some of the community events we have sponsored and/or participated in. For donation requests please download and fill-out our Donation Request Form

OFCU’s Sponsored Pet of the Month!

OFCU’s Sponsored Pet of the Month is a sweet and energetic Female Mixed Breed! OFCU has put $30.00 towards her adoption fees. For more information on how to make her or another loving pet part of your family contact the Alamogordo Animal Control Center today!

Community Involvement

Winter Wonderland

Alamogordo Winter Wonderland

OFCU Alamogordo donated and decorated a “Sports Fun” Christmas tree for Alamogordo’s Winter Wonderland Auction. Their tree auctioned for $2,700…proceeds go to The Base of Alamogordo.


Roswell Winter Wonderland

OFCU in Roswell decorated and donated a Christmas tree “Wishing you an udderly Mooey Christmas” for their Winter Wonderland Auction. Their tree auctioned for $1,500…proceeds go to the Casa Program in Roswell.

HAFB Dorm Dinner

OFCU sponsored, made and served dinner on HAFB for November’s Dorm Dinner. We served Pozole with crackers, cabbage, onion, lime, cheesecake and a drink.

Veterans Day Dinner

OFCU had 16 volunteers help serve dinner to our communities Veterans on Monday, November 10th.

Trunk or Treat

October 30th Roswell held their 2nd Trunk or Treat from 6:30pm till they ran out of candy!! October 31st, Alamogordo had their 3rd Trunk or Treat. Combined OFCU handed out over 20,000 candies, about 2,000 glow sticks, 500 hot cocoas and 400 cookies. Roswell had 8 vehicles. Alamogordo had 15 vehicles and a hot cocoa/cookie table. We had 68+ participants combined!!

Burning of the Bull

OFCU had 5 volunteers help run the ticket booth at the Burning of the Bull event on Saturday, October 18th.

Highway Cleanups

Holloman Highway CleanUps

OFCU had 15 volunteers and family help make our community beautiful on Saturday, October 18th with AFSA and some students from AHS ED Rising Club to help clean up part of the Holloman Highway.

OFCU had 11 staff volunteer their time on Saturday, April 19th with AFSA to help clean up part of the Holloman Highway.


Ruidoso Tos No Mas & Great American CleanUps

OFCU had 6 volunteers and family help make our Ruidoso community beautiful on Sunday, October 19th.

OFCU had 14 staff volunteer their time on Sunday, April 27th with Ruidoso to help keep Ruidoso beautiful.

Battle of the Food Trucks

OFCU sponsored and gathered 18 volunteers and family to help with Round 4 of the Battle of the Food Trucks Saturday, October 11th. Some volunteers ran food to the judges from about 32 food trucks and the other volunteers helped check IDs at the beer garden!

Day of Caring

OFCU had 6 volunteers help in Thrive’s Day of Caring on Friday, September 12th. The OFCU team helped organize THRIVE’s storage shed and also helped another zone finish cleaning a yard.

Ruidoso Flood Help

Mescalero/Ruidoso Flood Help

Saturday, July 19th, OFCU teamed up with HAFB to help Mescalero and those affected by the Ruidoso flood. With over 90 volunteers combined OFCU contributed to the help. Volunteers helped the fish hatchery, fill sandbags and sorted donations. Thank You to everyone who donated your time and represented OFCU in the community

4th of July Parade

OFCU 4th of July Parade – Pool Party

OFCU had a GREAT time celebrating the 4th of July Parade in Alamogordo. Thank You to everyone & their family/friends who volunteered several hours to help represent OFCU in the community.

Golf Tournament

Scholarships/Golf Tournament

OFCU’s annual scholarship golf tournament was held Monday, May 26th, at Desert Lakes Golf Course in Alamogordo. All proceeds will go to fund OFCU’s scholarships for the area students. Thank you to all the volunteers for making the charity tournament a success.

Colorfest Run

OFCU’s 13 volunteers had a blast helping and participating in THRIVES Colorfest Saturday, April 26th!

Purple Up

Purple Up! for Military Kids April 15th

“Purple Up! For Military Kids” is a day for Department of Defense Education Activity communities to wear purple to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices.
